fr Sewell jumped from the passenger deck of the Ferry Saunch, Evening Star, fully dressed and from a height of about 20 feet The man fought against his rescue but was overpowered and forced into a Life- buoy and held up until assistance was Fendered by the passengers and crew of

the Ferry Lednoh..

Immersion about 1 minute, the prompt action of Mr Sewell shortened the time and saved the mans life. The man appeared to be insane and, was handed over to the Palice and sent to Hospital.

fan sent to Govt Civil Hospital and was detained for 1 day and was then charged by the Police for attempted suicide and was handed over to his friends by order of the Magistrate.

The man was handed over to the Police and was at once sent to Hospital; he suffered very little from the immersion. He was not long enough in the water.

This Paper to be accompanied by Certificates of one or more eye- witnesses, who should aid their Profession or Trade after Signature, and state fully, in their own handwriting, the precise nature of the Claimants exertions, showing the actual risk he thereby incurred.

Should the Patient have been taken to a Public House, a Certificat of the Landlord, verified also by the Medical Attentèná, should be attached and stating what accommodation was afforded.
